Vision Statement

"The Heart of the Industry".

Mission

To enhance the quality of the lives of those who have worked long and hard in the UK Furnishing Industry and who now face personal or financial hardship.

What the Charity is doing right now

Rocketing fuel, food and travel costs: loss of employment; ongoing poor health, these are the major hardships hitting people on low incomes in 2010.

More people under the age of 50 are applying for our help, especially those with children. Parents already struggling to stretch limited incomes to pay for rent. household utility bills, food and school uniforms can be devasted by loss of employment.

We understand the dreadful isolation some of our elderly citizens suffer when hardship and illness strike. People who have worked hard all their lives and scrimped and saved can still, in the 21st century, find themselves living in cold, damp and unsafe housing. Our grants provide warmth and comfort and a much-needed morale boost.

We are stepping into these situations with practical help: one-off payments for desperately needed items and weekly grants to help those in constant hardship. In a complex world of agencies and networks we give real charitable support to individual people and their families coping with personal crisis and hardship.
